Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Slowly add this to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Chill the Dough: Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. This makes rolling and cutting easier.
- Roll & Cut Shapes: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly flour a surface and roll out the dough to ¼ inch thickness. Use dinosaur cookie cutters to shape cookies.
- Bake: Place cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.
- Cool & Decorate: Let cookies cool completely before decorating. Use royal icing, fondant, or edible markers to add details.
Notes
- For crispier cookies, bake for an extra 1-2 minutes.
- To make chocolate chip dinosaur cookies, add ½ cup chocolate chips to the dough.
- Dinosaur fossil cookies: Press a small dinosaur toy into the dough before baking to create an imprint.
